Back to normal

So I guess I should update since it's been forever!

I drove back to Florida on August 5th, stayed with family for a few days, then moved into our new apartment on the 11th. It's amazing here, I love it! Even though it's smaller than our house we had on base, it makes up for it with all the upgrades throughout. We won't be here for too much longer anyways so I think we can handle the tinyness. :)

Chris was due home August 28th, but their plane got delayed thanks to Hurricane Irene. Only a day thank the lord, or else I would have flipped. So the 29th was the day! I was soooo excited! I made him a sign for the front door (tried to find the picture but I guess I deleted it?), and spent the last week getting the apartment all neat & tidy. I think I got about 5 hours of sleep total the last night, and woke up around 7am cuz I was so anxious. His plane wasn't due to land 'til 2:30, so I had alot of waiting around that morning. I got ready and headed to the airport 45 minutes early just in case he landed early. A bunch of people showed up to welcome them home which was awesome! When he finally landed, I stood over where he'd be coming out and just waited & waited... When I saw him, my heart stopped. I don't even know the words to describe the feeling during a homecoming.. Amazing pretty much sums it up. I ran up to him and squeezed as hard as I could for like 5 minutes. Once he got his bags, we headed home :) The dogs were so excited to see him, Brady wouldn't stop giving him kisses, and Duncan did his happy pee, right on Chris's stomach lol.

Fast forward almost 3 weeks (which flew by!) We've done tons of shopping, and buying things for our new apartment, so not much to really say about that. He is back to work today. But it's only for this weekend, and Wednesday-Thursday.. Then he goes back on leave and we go on our cruise!

I'm off to start making dinner so it'll be done in time for him to be home! :)

Update on my boring life

First, let me just tell you how happy I am that I'm done with the 30 day picture challenge! I was getting very tired of doing it, but I didn't want to quit halfway through, and there was only one picture I skipped because I didn't have anything to put there lol.

So,  things have been going great in Oklahoma. I only have about a month left then I'm heading back to Florida. 33 days to be exact. I found Chris and I a cute apartment. I haven't seen it in person, but the pics of it are cute and I'm so excited! It's been stressful having to do everything on my own without Chris's help, but it'll pay off in the end since we won't be living in base housing.

Chris sews on Staff Sgt on August 1st. I couldn't be any more proud of him. He's been waiting for a year to put it on. We are finally almost coming to an end to his deployment. Once I get to Florida, he will have about 3-4 weeks and he'll be home!

We have our trip planned out for when he gets home. We'll be going on a 7-day cruise to Cozumel, Belize, Honduras, and the Cayman Islands. We leave October 2nd :) What an awesome birthday to spend it in Belize. We're gonna have so much fun! We already planned out what we're gonna do each day. Swim with dolphins and sting rays, tubing through some caves, and the thing I'm most excited about, underwater sea trek, check out the pic :) I can't wait for this trip. Chris and I have never taken a vacation alone just the two of us, so this will be a first, and will be his first time on a cruise. Ahh I'm so excited :D

Tell me that isn't the coolest thing you've seen!

I have still been grateful enough to talk to Chris every day since he's been gone. We send about 50 emails a day, and then I get a call on Skype once he gets off work. Other than planning the move back home, and planning the cruise, nothing exciting has really been going on, my life is still pretty boring.

If home is where you are, then home is too far away.

Day Thirty

Post a picture of your favorite military spouse support group and tell how it has helped you.

I don't have a favorite support group, because I have so many. I have about 5 or 6 that are through Facebook. I don't ask for support as much as I lend support to others. It's great to talk to other people who are going through the same thing, it makes it alot easier :)

Day Twenty Nine

Post a picture of the coolest place you ever got to go to because of your spouse being in the military.

I don't know if this counts or not, but when Chris deployed for the first time, I went up to visit my brother in Montana, and we went to Glacier National Park. It was probably the prettiest place I have ever been. Every inch of it looked like a post card. It was so pretty, and I definitely want to go back! Even though there is nothing else in Montana lol

Day Twenty Eight

Post a picture of the band that sings the song of your significant other’s ring tone while they are away.

His ringtone is 'Crazy Girl' by Eli Young Band.
Such a good song, go listen to it!

Day Twenty Seven

Post a picture of something that reminds you of your spouse and tell why it does.

Anything dealing with sports reminds me of Chris. He plays sports, watches, plays them on video games and talks about it. And when he's gone it's weird not hearing anything about them lol.

Day Twenty Six

Post a homecoming picture and tell how you felt that day

Sadly I don't have any homecoming pictures.. I was by myself last homecoming, and didn't get anyone to snap any for us :( I am hoping to get some when he comes home in a few months.. and I will definitely be posting them :)

I can't even begin to tell you how excited I was for him to come home. It was a crazy day to begin with. My brother was visiting for his Exodus leave from Tech School, and we were dropping him off at the airport at 6am, the same day Chris was coming home. When we got back to the house, I loaded up the car and starting making my 3-hour drive back to Patrick AFB. I made it quite early due to speeding. I hurried up and unpacked the car, took a shower, and cleaned the house up a bit. It took me a little over an hour to do all this. I then jumped back in the car to head to the Orlando Airport. It usually takes about 45 minutes to an hour to get there.. I got there in 35, no joke. Lol I was speeding again :P Once I got there I met up with another wife. We waited for about 15 minutes before seeing them all coming towards us from the gate. It took a few minutes to find Chris, they all seemed to look alike lol. When I finally found him, I ran to him and gave him the biggest hug ever. His friend didn't have a ride home, so Chris offered to drive him home, so the ride home pretty much sucked, I was stuck in the back seat by myself just sitting there not talking :( So that part was pretty lame, but overall, that was one of the best days of my life :) And I can't wait to go through it all again pretty soon!
